About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to help design, build and evolve the Flutter UKI platform infrastructure. This role combines deep technical expertise with ownership, collaboration, and mentorship, contributing to both the development of new platforms and the enhancement of existing systems.

You’ll play a critical role in improving reliability, scalability, and performance while helping shape engineering practices within your squad.

What you’ll actually be doing

• Manage and evolve platform infrastructure, including building new solutions and enhancing existing ones;

• Drive continuous improvements across processes, technologies, performance, security, and cloud cost efficiency;

• Promote and implement automation and self-service solutions to reduce manual effort;

• Take ownership of deliverables and incidents, including maintaining relevant documentation;

• Mentor team members and actively share knowledge;

• Act as a technical and behavioural role model within the team;

• Deliver consistently with a high-performance and reliable approach;

• Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders;

• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams.

What you bring to the table

• Experience with technologies such as Splunk, Vault, and Sensu;

• Proficiency in programming, specially in Golang, Python or Ruby;

• Strong understanding of Platform Engineering principles;

• Hands-on experience with production environments using AWS, Kubernetes/Docker, networking, Git, CI tools (e.g. Jenkins), and configuration management (Chef, Ansible);

• Solid knowledge of Linux operations and infrastructure technologies (virtualization, storage, hardware).

Nice to Have / Additional Strengths:

• Ability to evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools;

• Experience managing high-load, high-performance applications;

• Strong AWS expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and tooling;

• Ability to contribute to team ways of working and structure;

• Experience mentoring and developing engineers, identifying skill gaps;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
