Product Owner and Security Coordinator in Rail Projects
Summary
We are helping Siemens Mobility; they are a leading provider of innovative mobility products and solutions, covering the full rail asset lifecycle through hardware, software, and services. Our mission is simple but ambitious: help customers make better decisions by turning IoT data from rail assets into reliable, actionable insights.
We're looking for a Product Owner and a Security Coordinator to lead the development of a groundbreaking AI-powered solution that transforms the way we manage large-scale, safety-critical rail projects. Alongside that, you'll serve as the Security Coordinator, the central point of contact for all security-relevant topics within Siemens Mobility, acting as the interface between the business and the Siemens Corporate Security organization. It's a dual role for someone who thrives where cutting-edge AI, complex engineering, and risk management meet.
What You'll Be Working On
On the product side, you'll shape the AI strategy and roadmap for an integrated lessons-learned and risk-management solution that follows the project lifecycle, aligning closely with business stakeholders so the vision meets real-world needs in large-scale project management. You'll investigate rail-specific use cases such as cost-overrun forecasting, progress tracking via data fusion, and risk identification, and then craft AI solutions that deliver measurable value. A big part of the job is translation: turning rail workflows into clear, actionable digital and AI features.
On the security side, you'll identify, assess, and document security-relevant risks to assets, properties, key personnel, and support the planning and follow-up of mitigation measures in line with corporate guidelines. You'll develop and maintain the organization's crisis management and business continuity plans, lead the response to potential business crises as the central coordination point between corporate security and the business units, and drive business impact analysis (BIA) and BCM across the company. After incidents, you'll lead debriefs, document lessons learned, and continuously improve the processes and tools. Throughout, you'll promote a strong security culture and risk awareness across the global organization.
What They're Looking For
A university degree in Engineering, IT, or a related technical area.
At least 7 years of experience in production, technical project management, or security and risk management in regulated industries (rail, automotive, aerospace, medtech)
Solid grasp of project planning, scheduling, and collaboration in large-scale, multi-year international projects
End-to-end process understanding across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management, with a track record of continuous improvement
Practical AI and data literacy enough to build and guide the development of real-world AI solutions
Exceptional stakeholder management, including the ability to drive agile delivery in traditionally non-agile environments
A collaborative style that works across technical and non-technical teams and all hierarchy levels
High initiative, reliability, and integrity, with the composure to handle multiple priorities and high-stress situations
Fluent English and German; additional languages and executive-level communication are a plus
Experience in both start-up and corporate contexts is ideally
Why This Opportunity?
This is a rare dual mandate: own a transformative AI product and shape the security posture of a global rail leader, with visibility from the business units all the way to corporate security. You'll solve genuinely complex, industry-specific problems and see your work protect and improve safety-critical projects at scale.
Siemens Mobility backs that with a flexible working model for better work-life balance, health insurance and an on-site medical center, two volunteering days and four bridge days a year, exclusive discounts on Siemens and Bosch brands, and access to internal learning plus Coursera, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning.
